HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM
(9th – 12th Grade)
“The high school years represent an important transition toward the academic and social independence required in college and adult life.”
Secondary education comprises the sections from 9th to 12th grade. These programs are developed during the regular academic day from 7:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
The KCS curriculum is designed to continue to develop students’ biblical worldviews, while teaching them to accurately analyze, discernly evaluate, act wisely, and create so that they can apply what they learn to their personal and professional lives. . The KCS curriculum is challenging, flexible, and expansive, allowing students to develop their full potential and demonstrate expected student outcomes.
The academic program for this level includes the basic subjects of the program in English, as well as the subjects required by MINERD which are taught in Spanish, said program continues to be age appropriate and integrates all the distinctive features of the academic program in general.
Throughout their high school years, students are offered a variety of electives to expand their talents and interests, as well as supplemental programs in the areas of: physical education, career counseling, spiritual formation, among others.
Below is the breakdown of subjects required for the level as well as the language in which they are taught:
- Bible
- Language Arts
- Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus.
- Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
- World History & Geography
- French
- Spanish language
- Social studies
- Physical Education
- Orientation
- Electives Classes (English & Spanish)
Weekly chapel programs bring the student body together for times of corporate praise and worship, exposition of God’s Word, and small group follow-up. Students also participate in activities designed to develop Christian character, promote team building, and serve in school and community projects throughout the year. School life in high school is enriched with field trips, participation in student government, inter-school and inter-school academic activities. Additionally, extracurricular activities are available such as: choral ensemble, sports practices, STEM clubs.
